National Institute of Nutrition (NIN) was founded by Sir Robert McCarrison in the year 1918 as ‘Beri-Beri’ Enquiry Unit in a single room laboratory at the Pasteur Institute, Coonoor, Tamil Nadu. Within a short span of seven years, this unit blossomed into a "Deficiency Disease Enquiry" and later in 1928, emerged as full-fledged "Nutrition Research Laboratories" (NRL) with Dr. McCarrison as its first Director. It was shifted to Hyderabad in 1958.

i) Post graduate (PG) degree in Life Sciences (Biochemistry/ Microbiology/Bio-technology /Physiology) with at least oneyear experience in carrying out research work.
(ii) Proficiency in lab techniques like HPLC/Spectrophotometry/ Nutrient analysis.

Desirable Qualification : Pharmacy professional with relevant experience in Analytical Quality Assurance and documentation with knowledge of basic computer operations in the area of Pharmacy.
Age Criteria :
not exceeding 30 years.
Reservations and relaxations:
(i) No age relaxation will be allowed to SC/ST/OBC candidates against the unreserved posts. (as per GOI order No. 36011/1/98/Estt(Res.) dated 01.07.1998)
(ii) Reservation and relaxation for SC/ST/OBC/ PWD/Ex-servicemen candidates in age will be considered as per Government guidelines.
(iii) The upper age limit is relaxed by 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC (Non Creamy Layer) candidates. The upper age limit is also relaxed by 10 years for PWD-General, 13 years for PWD-OBC and 15 years for PWD-SC/ST candidates.
(iv) Age relaxation will be provided for, Ex-Servicemen as per GOI rules.
(v) The OBC candidates who belong to "Creamy Layer" are not entitled for concession admissible to OBC category and such candidates have to indicate their category as General. The OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) candidates are required to submit requisite certificate in prescribed format of Government of India, from a competent authority. Further, OBC (Non-creamy Layer) candidates will have to submit a self-undertaking indicating that they belong to OBC (Non-creamy Layer) category also at the time of joining, in case selected.
Application fee and Examination fee: Rs. 300/-
(i) Candidates belonging to SC/ST/ Ex-Servicemen and Women are exempted from payment of fee.
(ii) Candidates are hereby directed to submit separate applications for each post separately along with application fee individually.
(iii) ICMR employees are not exempted for payment of application and examination fee.
(iv) Fee once paid will not be refunded under any circumstances.
(v) Mode of payment: Demand Draft in favour of „DIRECTOR, NIN, HYDERABAD’ from any Nationalized Banks in India.
(vi) If Demand Draft is not enclosed along with the application then the application will be summarily rejected.
Selection Procedure: The selection procedure is based on the written test.

b) Date of Examination: Will be intimated to the shortlisted candidates through Admit Card/Hall Ticket.
