Chandigarh Administration decided to establish a Medical College in Chandigarh to remove this deficiency. For this purpose the Department of Medical Education & Research was created. In pursuance of the No Objection Certificate issued by the Government of India, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, vide their U.O. No. 12013/31-90ME(P) dated 15-01-91 Government Medical College was started in 1991.

Interested candidates may submit their application and bio-data by 22nd December 2018 upto 1:00 PM in the office of Deptt. of Microbiology. Short listed candidates will be called for interview in the department of Microbiology, Room No. 231, E-Block, 2nd floor, GMCH, Chandigarh. Eligible candidates will be intimated by E-mail/phone. Applications are invited for the following posts for a National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) funded project entitled “National Programme on containment of Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR)” under Dr. Jagdish Chander, Professor and Head, Department of Microbiology, GMCH, Chandigarh.
Pay: Rs 18,000/- per month consolidated
Qualifications: 10+2 Diploma in Pharmacy from a recognized Institution/Board
The posts are purely on contract basis till the project is continued.
