The National Institute of Immunology (NII) is committed to advanced research addressing the basic mechanisms involved in body's defence to identify modalities for manipulation of the immune system to provide protection against diseases and understand mechanisms that can be used to target disease processes for intervention. The institute’s research thrust areas under immunology and related disciplines cluster in four main themes, namely, infection and immunity, molecular design, gene regulation and reproduction and development, where cutting edge research in modern biology is being carried out.
Applications are invited for the position of Research Associate/Junior Research Fellow (Project)/Senior Research Fellow (Project) for the following time-bound sponsored project as per the details given below
Name of the project & Duration of the Project : “CRISPR-Cas9 ribonucleoprotein-based genome editing to elucidate the mechanism of pathology of tRNA modification enzyme mutations” funded by DBT Tenable till -02.10.2021
Educational Qualifications: This position is open for RA/SRF/JRF levels. Successful candidate will be hired as an RA/SRF/JRF based on the qualifications described below.
Research Associate: PhD/MD/MS/MDS or equivalent degree or having three years of research, design and development experience after M.V.Sc/M.Pharm/M.E./M.Tech. Candidate must have at least one first author research publication is a reputed journal.
Junior Research Fellow (Project): Post Graduate degree in Basic Science or Graduate Degree in Professional Course or Post Graduate degree in a Professional Course.
Senior Research Fellow (Project): Qualification prescribed as mentioned above for JRF with two years of research experience.
PS: JRF and SRF candidates without a post graduate degree in a professional course must have qualified in any of the national level eligibility tests such as NET/GATE etc
Emoluments: The selected candidates will draw consolidated emoluments as per Institute Rules, depending upon qualifications & experience
Research Associate : Rs. 36,000/- per month plus 30% HRA
Junior Research Fellow (Project) : Rs. 25,000/- per month plus 30% HRA
Senior Research Fellow (Project) : Rs. 28,000/- per month plus 30% HRA
Job description & Desired Knowledge: 
Primary responsibility of the selected candidate would be bioinformatic analysis of next generation sequencing data. Successful candidate must have proven expertise in R/python/perl. Previous experience with bioinformatics/next generation sequencing is desirable, but not essential. Candidates with computer science background, without any experience in biology, will also be considered provided they have expertise in coding. Knowledge in statistics is desirable.
General Terms & Conditions:
1. The candidates selected for the above posts will be on contract for one year or duration of the project whichever is shorter, at a time.
2. No hostel/ housing facility will be provided.
3. Applicants may clearly mention the category they belong to i.e. SC/ST/OBC/PH and attach documentary proof of the same.
4. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview, if called for.
5. Apart from sending application in the prescribed format given below, candidates should send complete Curriculum Vitae along with the names of three referees. Curriculum Vitae should contain details of the experimental expertise and list of publications.
