Job for Research Associate, Traineeships, Studentships at JNTBGRI

KSCSTE - Jawaharlal Nehru Tropical Botanic Garden and Research Institute (KSCSTE - JNTBGRI) was found in 1979 with the objective of establishing a Conservatory Botanic Garden of tropical plant resources in general and of the country and the Kerala state in particular. It also undertakes research programmes for the sustainable utilization of the resources. The idea of establishing the institute was conceived soon after the first United Nations Conference on human Environment, held in Stockholm in 1972 by the  Founder Director, the late Professor A. Abraham and its became his commitment to conserve the waning tropical plant species of India. Consequently, the institute was established as an autonomous R & D organization by the Government of Kerala in 1979.
Candidates are invited for recruitment to the following temporary positions in the Department of Biotechnology, Government of India Sponsored Bioinformatics Distributed information Sub-Centre at Saraswathy Thangavelu Extension Centre, KSCSTE-JNTBGRI, Puthenthope, Thiruvananthapuram. The required qualification and experience of the candidates are as follows.
Research Associate (1 post)
Age : 36 yrs (as on 1th January 2018)
Eligible Qualifications : Ph.D. in Biotechnology/ Computational Biology/ Biotechnology/Life Science/ Agricultural Biotechnology with two publications in the area of Bioinformatics. Minimum three years research experience in Bioinformatics Desirable Qualification: Experience in drug discovery process
Salary/Fellowship : Rs 36000/-+ HRA Based on the research experience the fellowship may be enhanced to the RA category II (
Rs 38,000/- +HRA) or RA category III (Rs 40,000/-+HRA)
Traineeships in Bioinformatics (2 posts)
Age : 28 yrs (as on 1th January 2018)
Eligible Qualifications : MSc./M Tech in Bioinformatics/Biotechnology/ Computational biology
Salary/Fellowship : Rs 10000/- Per month (Consolidated)
Studentships in Bioinformatics (2 posts)
Age : 28 yrs (as on 1th January 2018)
Eligible Qualifications : For doing project work in Bioinformatics towards partial fulfilment of post graduate / M.Phil. degree in Bioinformatics / Biotechnology / Computational Biology / Agricultural Biotechnology/Pharmacy/Life Science
Salary/Fellowship : Rs 10000/- Per month (Consolidated)
Terms & Conditions:
1. Candidates are required to submit self-attested copies of all the Certificates in support of their claims regarding age, educational qualifications, scheduled caste/scheduled tribe/OBC etc. The original certificates shall be produced for verification before the interview.
2. Candidates should bring copy of MSc dissertation and detailed bio-data affixing a recent passport size photograph.
3. Age relaxation will be provide as per the reservation rule.
4. The candidates attending the interview should ensure that they fulfill all the eligibility conditions.
5. No TA/DA will be paid to attend the interview.
